How we research, select, and rate thermal bags. We believe in full transparency about our methodology and the limits of our testing.

Who We Are

ThermalBags.com is an independent editorial publication. We are a team of logistics researchers, product analysts, and former commercial couriers who provide buying guidance across food delivery, consumer, and B2B thermal transport markets.

We are not a retailer, a manufacturer, or affiliated with any specific brand. Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions on qualifying purchases — meaning if you click through to a product and buy it, we may earn a small fee at no extra cost to you.

What We Do (and Don't Do)

We are a research-based editorial site. We do not conduct in-person, physical product tests. We do not own a testing laboratory, and we do not use thermal cameras or temperature probes to personally evaluate the bags we write about.

What we do is extensive desk research and analysis. This includes reviewing verified buyer data from major retail platforms, manufacturer technical specifications, third-party laboratory studies, official food safety guidance (FDA, EFSA), and aggregated real-world courier reports.

Where we reference standards like "FLIR thermal methodology" or FDA temperature thresholds, we are applying those published frameworks as an evaluative lens — not claiming to have conducted physical tests ourselves.

Our Review Methodology

Each guide we publish is assessed against a 47-point research framework that we have developed over time. Key evaluation criteria include:

  • Insulation material type and documented performance (EPE, XPE, foil-lined, etc.)
  • Manufacturer-stated temperature retention windows at 1hr, 2hr, and 4hr marks
  • Verified buyer feedback on condensation, zipper durability, and heat loss
  • Compliance with TSA regulations and FDA food-safe temperature guidelines where relevant
  • Zipper and structural durability based on manufacturer stress-test ratings and aggregated user experience
  • Value-for-money relative to the market category (budget, mid-range, institutional)

We aim to represent the performance of each product as accurately as possible given available third-party data. Where data is limited or contested, we say so clearly.

Affiliate Disclosure & Independence

ThermalBags.com participates in affiliate programmes including the Amazon Associates Programme and other third-party networks. When you click a link on our site and make a purchase, we may receive a commission.

This commission does not influence which products we recommend, how we rank them, or what we write about them. Products are selected and ranked solely on the basis of our research criteria. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews, sponsored rankings, or editorial coverage.

Where a product is provided to us free of charge by a manufacturer for evaluation purposes, this will be clearly stated within the relevant guide.

Corrections Policy

We are committed to accuracy. If you identify a factual error, an outdated claim, or a product that has been significantly updated since our guide was published, please contact us and we will review and correct the content promptly.

Guides are reviewed and updated periodically to reflect new product releases, discontinued models, and updated safety standards.
